ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING

Could you imagine being the babysitter in this story? Holy cow...to take the kids you are in charge of with you to downtown? To be the victims of a carjacking? To be at a bar singing the blues ("Nobody leaves here without singing the blues!") To catch your boyfriend cheating on you with a bimbo? To have the 16 year old boy that is in complete love with you stabbed in the foot? To be shot at? WOW- now that is what I call a crazy babysitting story.

This movie rocks. From the opening "And, then he kissed me" ballet to the closing kiss of the new stranger found at a downtown college party, and everything in between! Daryl Coopersmith is hilarious. What a freak!!!! And, Sara Anderson and her love for THOR!!!! As a kid...my absolute favorite scene from this movie was in the Subway when "Brenda" thought she was petting a kitty which really turned out to be a sewer rat. And, the black woman at the same subway that yells "Get out of my house!" while hitting the telephone booth with her walking cane. Did anybody ever hope they would grow up to babysit and have a night like that? ha!

Description
Chris Parker (Elisabeth Shue) agrees to babysit after her "dream" date stands her up. Expecting a dull evening, Chris settles down with three kids for a night of TV ... and boredom. But when her frantic friend Brenda calls and pleads to be rescued from the bus station in downtown Chicago, the evening soon explodes into an endless whirl of hair-raising adventures! Babysitter and kids leave their safe suburban surroundings and head for the heart of the big city, never imagining how terrifyingly funny their expedition will become.

If you never saw this movie...then you simply were not born in the 80's or maybe you just didn't own a VCR. Adventures in Babysitting was an adventure to watch. It was "SOOO COOL!" (get it...license plate of the dorky "player" boyfriend, Mike.)
